Slinky

My name
is Slinky and I am a very senior male. I was recently dropped off to be euthanized because my family didn't want to care
for a senior dog anymore. Thanks goodness the Humane Society called the rescue to save me. I'm just a good ol' boy
wanting to live the rest of my life where I can be loved. I am deaf and blind, but I don't have any other medical issues.
Is there a place in your heart for an older guy?

Preston-Special Needs -
Deaf

Hi, my name is Preston. I was found in animal control along with my brother. He got adopted before the
rescue could come to get me. That is very unfortunate for me because he was my "ears" I'm a deaf boy and feel
totally alone in the world right now. My foster mom is working on my sign language, which I seem to be picking up pretty quick.
Although I've lost my brother, I still want to get up and play with my other foster siblings. I love the tennis ball,
as you can see in my video. Do you have what it takes to be my special new family? I promise to give you lots of love in return!

Gunner-Special Needs
Could use your help with medical care.
5-1-09 Update: Gunner has not had another relapse of Pancreatis for over a year now.
He is doing very well with his prescription diet and it controls the pancreatis very well.
3-2-07 UPDATE: Gunner is waiting for a new home to call his own. He is filling out very nicely and
doing wonderful on his new diet. Please see updated pics.
1-30-07 UPDATE: Gunner
is ready for his new home. He has turned into one very playful boy. He loves his toys and wants nothing more than
for you to play with him. He is becoming one very good looking guy, he is filling out and his special diet certainly
agrees with him.
1-5-07
UPDATE: Gunner came home from the hospital 1-2-07 and is doing very well. He has gotten his playfullness back
and is loving every minute of laying on the couch. He will be a great addition to his new family.
12-28-06 UPDATE: Gunner was taken into the hospital today and after extensive testing
he was determined to have Pancreatitis. He is currently on IV's for the next few days and is being fed the same
way. He is doing well and should be able to come home 1-2-06. He will have to be on a special diet for the rest
of his life with no outside foods or treats being added to his diet. The vet cannot be totally sure it will not reoccur,
but it is very treatable and manageable.
We have Gunner listed as a senior male, we are unsure of
his exact age because of the condition he is in. Malnutrition can age a dog well beyond their years. We estimate he is between
5-8. He is a very loveable boy who came from the same shelter as Harmony. Everyone worked very hard to get Gunner into rescue
and transporting across the state. He is certainly enjoying food and a nice bed to lay his head. He has received his vaccines
and is heartworm negative but being treated for several different parasites. He must obtain a healthier level before he can
be neutered. We will post more as we learn, currently we are trying to get his hunger appeased.
Adoption
Donation: None to the right home that will be able to control his pancreatitis and diet.
Crosley

Crosley is in the process of coming into rescue. More details will be posted soon.

Lynx

My name
is Lynx and I am a very special boy of 1-2 years of age. You see, my owner came outside to feed me one
day and discovered I was blind. It is most likely I was born blind and my owner just never payed enough
attention to me to notice. Upon discovering I was blind, my owner took me to the vet to be euthanized.
He told the vet he did not have the time to mess with a blind dog. The vet staff convinced my owner
to relinquish his rights to me in hopes of getting me into rescue. If a rescue could not be
found quickly, I was still going to be euthanized. My foster mom was the only person who inquired about
me, and picked me up on the day I was to be euthanized. I am so thankful to be in rescue…I am truly
getting a second chance.
Once in
my foster home, my mom noticed something else was not right with me. While I was at the vet being
neutered and getting all my vaccinations, it was determined I am partially deaf. Adjusting to my new life
has been really hard for me and my new mom. I am slowly learning to trust her and she is learning that
I get easily overwhelmed. I have made great progress in just a week’s time, but I still have a ways
to go. I already know the “sit” and “down” commands. Once I
am fully acclimated to my new life, I am going to be a great dog. My foster mom and I are working really
hard, so we can show everybody what a great boy I am. I love to play with other dogs and I’m learning
to play tug-o-war. I will need to be adopted into a home with another dog. I really
need another dog to be my mentor and to show me the ropes. I am not quite ready
for adoption yet so check back for updates on my progress.

Diesel

Diesel
is approximately 2 years old and was surrendered to a kill shelter by his owner. He gets along well with other large
dogs, both male and female. With a little work on the part of his adoptive family, Diesel should do fine with small
dogs or cats. He likes children and would do best in a home with older children.
Diesel is fully housetrained and is continuing to work
on his crate training. He is doing much better in his crate, but gets very nervous and prefers not to be
crated. He would do best in where a family member is home a good portion of the day. Diesel is very lovable and
wants to be by your side all the time…he is definetly a cuddler.

Dane

Dane is a 3 year old flashy
fawn. He is housebroke and crate trained, but he is not always fond of his crate. Dane
is a typical boxer boy with lots of energy. He loves to play and run and will need plenty of exercise and stimulation. He
enjoys sleeping with you at night and relaxing on the couch. Dane loves kids of all ages, but will need a home without cats
or small dogs.
