Niki came in as a stray. It's pretty apparent that she was used in puppy mill and abused. When she first came in, she was afraid of everything-people, other dogs, the wind. Slowly, over the past couple of weeks, we have watched her come out of her shell as she regains her confidence. She is holding her head up high and is even playing with the others now. She has not had a single accident in her crate or the house. She enjoys being out with the family, but is also content to be in her crate. Our cat is perfectly comfortable in her presence. She is great with young children and we have yet to hear her bark. Loud noises still startle her briefly, but she is growing accustomed to the everyday noises of a home. She is estimated to be 4 years old. Won't you please consider giving Niki a decent life like she so deserves?

7/27/2009: Hey! It's me, Pearl! I've been in my foster home for about 8 months now and I am ready to have a forever family. I am about 3 years old and the sweetest girl you will ever meet. I get so excited and wiggly when you get home from work and I absolutely love to give kisses. I'm not much of a morning girl, I enjoy sleeping in. I also love to lay in the sun and to chew on bones. I've been mistreated in my past so sometimes it takes awhile for me to not be nervous around new people. My foster family is working with me to help me understand that no one will hurt me anymore. Since I have been mistreated I also do not trust other animals and would prefer to be the only animal in my forever home. I do well in my crate and I am housebroken. I also know a few commands. Frost
is a sweet girl approximately 1 year old. Her eye was injured and had to removed, but she is on the mend and looking for her
forever home. Frost is deaf, but she is also a very sweet and calm. Since Frost is deaf, her adopters
will need to have a fenced yard. She gets along very well with all her foster siblings. She has been through a lot,
and we can only imagine how scared and confused she must be. Frost’s foster family is in the process of learning all

Whisper
7-8-09 Update: Whisper got her spay today and the
vet stitched her ear together the best that could be done. She still has a small area at the very tip of her ear that
could not be put back together because of all the scare tissue. She is the most wonderful little girl, so very sweet
and good natured.
Whisper is new to the rescue program. She is approximately 3 yrs old and was a breeder surrender
to a local kill shelter with only a couple hours left. She is a happy little girl who has not been treated very well.
We assume she was kept outside in a kennel and used solely for breeding purposes. She came in covered in fleas, ticks
and with one ear ripped in to. She is starting her house training and crate training. She seems to get along well
with other dogs and she took no notice of the kitty. She is a very loving, gentle little girl and seems to be very happy
being near you. She rides very well in a car and enjoyed being able to stretch out and take a long nap. Whisper
is a little skittish around loud unfamiliar noises. She is going to make someone a wonderful companion.

Lexie
Lexie showed up at a house in a rural area starving, emaciated, and with large sores on her back. The people there fed her and kept her for a while, but are not able to give her a permanent home. Lexie has obviously been through a rough time in the past. She still has a fearful look and will lie down when approached with a leash. She does walk along on a leash well and jumped right into the car of her foster family. Her back has healed, leaving large scars. Her legs have scars from being tangled in a chain. She is still thin, but is gaining weight steadily. Lexie is about two-years-old. She needs a loving home where she can learn that people are kind and not cruel. Carly
Carly is one and a half year old boxer girl that is full of energy and loves to play with her foster brothers. She has been spayed and has all her shots up to date. She is ready to be adopted. She is house trained, crate trained, and now has graduated to sleeping all night with her foster mom. Carly was previously an outside dog so she is still working on learning her basic commands. She is a lover. She loves being a part of the family. She has a great personality...and very smart.

Belle
Belle is a sweet little lady of 5 or 6 years. She only weighs 45 pounds and is very petite. Belle loves to zoom around the yard and likes you to pretend you are going to chase her. She is such a fun girl to be around and is very loving. When she is not playing outside she likes to relax on the couch. Belle loves kids, although when she gets frisky she could knock a young child down.
Belle likes consistency and is happiest if she in not constantly being exposed to new situations. She likes to go for rides in the car, but prefers to wait in the car if you need to get out. Belle likes to go for walks, but gets anxious when she crosses paths with other dogs and needs some redirecting. Belle will be happiest as an only dog. She mostly likes to be by your side enjoying family time. She is housebroken and crate trained, although she does not need crated. She is such a sweet girl and will be a great companion for the right family.

Sukie
Meet Sukie, she is a sweet, loving, beautiful 1 yr old pup. She is an owner surrender to our rescue. Her family has been faced with the difficult decision to re-home Sukie because she is not getting along with the other female boxer in the home. Here is what Sukie’s mom has to say about her:
Sukie was raised in our home from
8 weeks old with 2 other dogs and our two children ages 3 and 6 years now. She is great with our kids and loves when they
play and tease her. She is super sweet and loves attention. She will lay in your lap and fall asleep, if you can fit a 44lb
dog in your lap! She will sit on command and we are working on the excited jumping that occurs when she first greets you.
She is spayed. She is potty trained, crate-trained and is up to date on all her vaccines. She is still mostly puppy and will
chew things if left alone during the day. She is fine inside the home, outside of her crate, as long as she is supervised.
I believe Sukie could be acclimated to a cat. We have an outdoor cat that she sees but doesn’t really interact
with but she is calm when she does see her. Sukie is a wonderful girl, a great companion, friend and watchdog. If you are

Megan
Meet Megan, she is approximately 2 years old. She is very PLAYFUL. If
there is another dog around she is going to be playing with it. Remember, boxer play can be rough at times.
She is doing great playing with the male dogs in her foster home. As we learn more about Megan we
will introduce her to the females. With a little work, Megan would probably be okay living with a kitty
or a small dog. Megan loves to play with toys either by herself or with her foster family.
Megan is a petite girl who still needs to gain a few pounds, but she should not be over 55lbs. Megan
does well in her crate and is still working on potty training. We don’t expect any problems with
potty training. She still needs a little work on leash training, but enjoys going for long walks.
Hi! My name is Holly. I was brought in as a stray around Christmas, which is how I got my name. I am about a year old and full of energy. I have beautiful markings too. They don't think I have ever been allowed inside because I'm still not sure about being in the house. I was very leary at first, but am starting to come out of my shell. I am a bit rambunctious at this point, so an obedience class might be helpful in teaching me manners and how to be an inside dog. I love to wrestle with my other foster siblings and my foster family has learned that I am a fence jumper. There is a dog next door that I love to play with, so if I'm not on a lead, I jump right into the next yard. 11-4-08 Bonnie's health has stabilized and she is looking for a home where she can live out her remaining days in peace and comfort. She takes aspirin daily to keep her comfortable. She is able to walk slowly and goes outside to potty or just relax in the fresh air. She prefers to be left along by the other dogs in her home but does not mind there presence. She is looking for a home that can give her lots of love and keep her comfortable. Please consider making a difference in Bonnie’s life. Bonnie will not have an adoption fee. She needs a home willing to let her live out her days in comfort.
2-28-08 Bonnie has more going on than expected. She is deteriorating very quickly in her back legs, hips and lower spine. She is in pain and the meds are barely able to help control her pain level. She has a very devastating and painful disease. She is scheduled another vet visit shortly.
2-4-08 On Saturday Bonnie
developed a bad limp and was acting like her leg was in severe pain. She was rushed to Shivley Animal Hospital on Sunday
and had extensive X-rays ran of her knee and hip. So far she has arthritis in her knee and some hip displaysia, we are
expecting the rest of the results shortly. She is on meds now to see if this helps in getting the inflamation down.
She may have to be a special needs gal.
Bonnie
is a flashy fawn girl with high white socks of approximately 18-24 months. She is housetrained, crate trained and gets along
well with other dogs. Cats are unknown at this time. She is fully vetted and ready for her new home. More will be posted as
we learn all about this little beauty.
Celeste
6-21-07 Update: Celeste is fully housetrained and loves to be around her family. She sleeps with her foster dad each night and has learned to trust again. She is extremely happy in her new life. She is an overall wonderful girl. She does need to be an only dog in her new home.
Celeste has had a very hard life for a 2-3 yr old boxer/american bulldog mix girl. She came in from a high kill shelter where she was for the second time. When they found her, she has been bred, attempted to be used for fighting but wouldn't and finally starved and left with untreated mange. She has good reason to fear people with the injustice she has suffered. Celeste is a timid girl and no longer the happy one that left the shelter a year ago. She will be getting a whole new start and hopefully will learn to trust and to love again. She has already been treated 3 times for mange and is starting to regrow some hair. Celeste is now ready for her new home.

UPDATE:
6-22-06 Lori Ann went for a 2nd HW test and will not be treated. She is to high a positive to survive the treatment
process. She will live what time she has left with her foster mom who loves her dearly. We will be getting her
teeth pulled and cleaned to cut down on the infection next week. She will know what it means to be loved and cared for
during the last part of her life. It is a shame this is happening to such a wonderful girl when it could all have been
prevented by using monthly heartworm preventative. If you do not have your dog on Heartworm preventative - PLEASE get
it tested and placed on monthly preventative. THIS IS THE LIFE OF YOUR PET YOU ARE PLAYING WITH. THIS COULD BE
YOUR DOG DYING OF HEARTWORM.
Lori Ann is a 7-8 yr old classic brindle female that was pulled from an extremely high kill shelter.
She is very loving and sweet. She is new to the program and we are still learning about her. She is very gentle,
gets along well with the other dogs in her new foster home. She has made herself at home on the sofa and follows her
foster mom everywhere. She loves attention and is very well mannered. In getting all her vetting up to date she
has been found a high heartworm positive. She will not be able to begin treatment as scheduled for we are
trying to kill the microfolora so her liver and kidneys can function more properly. She will also be undergoing
surgery for her teeth and several will be removed at that time. Please keep your eye on this wonderful girl.
