Callie2.jpgCalli is a 2.5 year old light fawn female.  She has lots of energy, she is crate trained and fully house trained.  She is ready and waiting for her new home.   She is great with kids and would do well with children in the household.  We have learned that Calli is a fence jumper, even the 6' privacy.  She only wants to jump the fence when you walk out of the gate and she is left unattended.  She is so happy to be able to see and be near you.  She is great with other nondominate male dogs and loves to play.  Callie also suffers from Seperation Anxiety and will need a heavy duty crate for when you are not home, we are currently working on this issue.  She so wants her own family.

Sherman-Adopted

Update from family 11/06/06:

Sandie,

Sheman is doing great!!!!   I can’t believe how affectionate and obedient he is.  It is truly a great surprise.  He has done very well when unsupervised at the cabin and loves going for long walks in the woods with me.  The kids are really taking to him nicely and him to them.  They play together and get upset because he only like to follow “me” around the house and not them.   Its really quite funny.

I have attached 2 picture of Sherman .  Apparently, he likes to chew up stuffed animals.  He found the only one I have in the house and decide it needed to be chewed.  The second one is what he does to me if I work too long and don’t pay attention to him.  He puts his head right on my mouse hand.  Its quite funny.  Usually, he just lays on his dog bed while I work and takes a nap.

He is apparently a couch dog also.  He wriggles his way on the couch no matter what I do.  Also, he apparently thinks he is small enough to be a lap dog.  He is always trying to get in my lap no matter where I am sitting.  I like it.

Sampson2.jpg     Sampson3.jpg

Sampson4.jpg

Sherman is a large beautiful 5-6 yr old boy who just came into care. He gets along well with non-dominate females but will not tolerate dominate males, doesn't seem to mind the kitties and has the best personality around. He is fully housetrained and can be left out uncrated.  He has perfect manners and an absolutely wonderful disposition.  Sherman has been Heartworm tested twice - the vet recommends since he is such a very low grade positive that he be started on heartworm preventative.  The test kit showed only a very slight variation in tinting and barely visible to the naked eye.

Jax-Adopted

am terribly sorry it has taken me this long to send you all an update but I'm sure you remember Jax- or at least you remember his medical bills!   :)  He has been the most wonderful dog!!!  I can't thank you enough for taking such good care of him while he was in your care.  We are all absolutely in love with him and you can tell, he really appreciates a loving family.  Since in our care he has not had any additional medical issues and has overcome any he had prior.  He is so loving with our 6 year old and follows her everywhere she goes.  We take him to the park or to the tball field almost every weekend and he gets soooo much attention.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that he is doing very well, is very loved and we are so thrilled to have such a wonderful family dog.
Thanks for everything!  Attached are some pics...

Jax4.jpg    Jax6.jpg

Jax5.jpgUPDATE: 8-23-06 Jax has been released from his 2 week stay in the hospital. His stomach is in a mess and the vet thinks he has food allergies. He is currently on meds and a special veterinary food for allergies. We are hoping he will be one the mend shortly. The vet informed us that he will have to remain on the medication and special food for the rest of his life. Poor Jax underwent extensive testing, xrays, and exploratory surgery to find out why he could not eat or keep dry food down. He is feeling so much better now and happens to be the sweetest boy we have had in care for some time.

Jax1.jpg      Jax2.jpg      Jax3.jpg

Jax is very new to the rescue program and we will be learning where his housetraining skills are at.  He is a very friendly boy of approximately 2-3 years old and loves other dogs.  Jax foster mom says he is one awesome boy.  He gets along great with all other dogs and doesn't mind the kitties.  He loves people of all ages and has great manners.  He is housetrained and doesn't mind being crated but really doesn't require one.  He is fully vetted and waiting on his new home.

Adopted

Daisy Mae-Adopted

 Daisy3.jpg      Dasey1.jpg

DaisyPF1.jpgDaisy Mae is a beautiful white boxer girl with one blue eye and one brown.  Her life has not been a good one until now.  She has been used as a breeding machine, but that is about to end.  She appears to be housetrained, is fully hearing but does know some sign language for her commands.  She is a very loving 3 yr old boxer girlie who would love a new family that will take very good care of her.  She is very gentle and loves to be around children.  She will jump a short fence and will require a 6' privacy fence or be leash walked.  She loves riding in a car and prefers the passenger seat where she can see everything going on.  She plays very well with the small and large dogs, but she must be placed in a home where there are no CATS.  She will complete her vetting shortly.

8-15-06  Update from the family:  I just wanted to give you and Amy (please pass along as I don't have her email at my work) an update on Zoe.  She is going to be a little girl weighing in at only 39 lbs.  She is wonderful, a little devil and
steals our hearts everyday.  Thank you both for letting her into our home.  She is a dream and everything she does is so cute even if it is bad.  She is house broken - she was going through a phase where she liked the inside better than the outside.  She sleeps with Mr. Gunnar every night - she started that when she was very young and can't be without him.  He on the other hand tolerates a lot.  I say it is his payback for picking on Mara and Haley when he was young.  She is just glued to Mr. Gunnar at the hip.  They play in the backyard all the time
- running and beating each other up. The backyard is wonderful as it is
fully shaded.  It is so wonderful to watch them play.  She has developed Mr. Gunnar's jumping ability - whenever they want to come in they bark and jump in front of the all glass back door.  Of course she can't jump as high as him (6 feet), but she sure does give it a good try.  She loves to see what is on the counter and if it isn't pushed back enough she gets it.  Oh ya, she is quite the little theft as well and the funny thing is that she knows exactly when she has done something wrong.  It also doesn't help that I have a square shaped donut house (shaped like a square donut with the centre being a courtyard) as she runs in circles and it is really hard to catch her.  When you think you have her she
turns around and goes the other way.  We had a stagette for a friend of mine on Sat night and Zoe took off with one of presents in her mouth. She was adorable!  Did I mention that she is quite a party girl.  She is in almost every stagette picture.  When I go for a walk I take her and Mr. Gunnar or Haley - they walk on a bridging link - she is doing quite well.  She knows a lot of hand signs, but tends to bark back at me (sasses me back) when I do the sign for no/bad.  She is quite the little devil.  I notice that one of the traits of a deaf dog is that she is a
little stand offish, not sure of what is going to happen, but she is coming along and becoming quite the snuggler.  And the kisses, well she just loves to give kisses.  And the bed, she just loves to sleep on our bed, but she does go to her kennel after a little snuggle time.  She also loves to push things with her front paws/legs.  May be it is to see if there is something under it as she does this to her pillow all the time.  Also, it is so cute in the morning when they all line up for
their treats.  It is so cute to see her sitting there being so patient waiting for her treat.  In the beginning she just grabbed at everyone I was giving out, but now she has accepted that she is the last one in line.

I would have attached some pictures, but I am at work and don't have any updated pictures with me, but when I get home I will send you some (I have copied this email to my home address).

As you can see we just love our little girl and she is quite the addition to our family.  I am taking her into the vet on Friday to get fixed.  I explained to them that I don't leave my dogs overnight so I have to be there bright and early so I can pick her up at 4 pm.

Well I just wanted to give you a brief update and to let you know how much we love our little Zoe.

I will be in touch shortly with pictures of our adorable little girl.

Bye for now,
Sandy

I will be 8 weeks old the end of February and will start looking for a new home to call my own.  I am a gorgeous little white female baby.  I am going to be learning many new things very soon like house training, crate training, and I will be attending a class designed to teach me some basic commands using sign language.  My new home will need to be willing to learn a few simple sign commands that I can understand.  It would be best for me to be placed with a hearing male dog, a privacy fence that I won't be able to get out of to make sure I stay safe.  If you are looking for a gorgeous little bundle of love and have the time and patience required, I just may be your girl.

Adopted

Grace-Adopted

Grace1.jpg        Grace2.jpg

I am a very peppy senior girl of about 8+ years old.  I am fawn with natural ears and a docked tail.  I don't like cats and would do better as an only dog.  I walk very well on leash, am crate trained and house trained.  I just need a place to call home.  It's rough on a lady my age being bounced around, but I have held it together better than most.  My foster mom thinks I am very special and is very confident that there is someone out there looking for the perfect boxer, you see, that would be ME.  All my shots are complete,  I am spayed and anxious to find out where my forever home will be.  Don't pay attention to my age, I don't, and I seem to do quite well and you will to once you welcome me into your heart and home.

Adopted

Aggie - Special Needs-Adopted

Picture coming soon.

Aggie is Calli's daughter.  She is about 15 weeks old and is a beautiful fawn girlie.  She is working on her housetraining skills and crate training and is doing well with both.  Aggie has suffered spinal damage from a very bad fall.  She has seen an orthopedist and had numerous xrays taken.  They cannot fix the damage, but says she can have a life with lots of care in her activities.  She will have to have routine visits to the chiropractor for laser treatment for the next several months.  She has good days and bad days.  She will need a home that has very little excitement, no small children are recommended or other dogs for she will want to play.  She will need to be leash walked and controlled.  She cannot afford any normal boxer jumping, bouncing, and especially fighting of any kind including play, it could cause her to become paralyzed and ultimately euthanized.  We would like to give this little baby a chance for a good loving home since she has never had one.

If you would like to help with any of her medical expenses, PLEASE click on the PayPal link and donate or send to our address listed on our home page.  WE NEED YOUR HELP DESPERATELY!

Adopted

Zeus

Zeus1.jpg         Zeus2.jpg

Zeus is a 5 yr. old fawn male boxer.  He is cropped and docked, has a reserved personality.  He was hit by a car and taken to the vet with a broken pelvis.  No one came forward to claim him.  The vets office fixed his pelvis and called rescue to see if we could help find him a good home once he heals.  Zeus walks very well on leash and has wonderful house manners.  He is very loving and gentle and wants only to please.

Update: Zeus' pelvis is fully healed and he has no complications from the accident.  If you are looking for a wonderful boy, he is it.  No other male dogs please for Zeus' new home

Special letter from the family:

> Subject: UPDATE ON CHLOE

Good morning, I wanted to give you an update on Chloe.. she is still wonderful!.. Her leg doesn't seem to bother her unless she is allowed to run outside for more than 15 minutes solid, or if it is rainy for a few days in a row.  It doesn't pop very often anymore either which is a good thing. The vet said we can either wait until it is a more constant pain or go ahead and to the surgery now while she is still young. I figure I'll make that decision when I get my bonus check in August. As soon as I get some pictures down loaded, I'll send you one of her in her sun glasses. We bought her a pair of dogles at Petsmart a few weeks ago and she absolutely loves them. She is so funny, she sits back in the car with the window down and really shows off at every stop light by looking over at the people in the cars. She knows she is a cool looking lady!!
Chloe has also become the babysitter at our house. Chelsey, the little maltese had a stroke about 6 weeks ago. Since that time she has really struggled with getting around as well as just knowing where she is at at any given moment. Chloe's helps her up on the couches by putting her nose under her and lifting her up. When I mow or go outside Chelsey is just in a panic and just paces around. Chloe will go get her in her mouth, haul her over to the sliding glass door and keep her cornered there until I pass by on the mower to let Chelsey know where I'm at.
It will make you cry to watch the two of them. Chloe is so gentle with her its like she knows Chelsey is old and sick.  Chloe chews on bones and then lets Chelsey have them once they are all slobbery.   If the poodle walks by though, Chloe will growl the growl of death and will not share her bones.
A few weekends ago we were at my parents house and dad dropped something out of the refrigerator which scared chelsey and she yelped. Chloe came through that house with her hair up all the way down her back ready to chew something up.. she sniffed all over chelsey to make sure she was okay, picked her up in her mouth and took her in and put her up on my Mom's bed.  Then laid in the floor beside the bed like she was watching over Chelsey.  It's absolutely amazing what has happened between these two dogs.  The vet suggested putting Chelsey to sleep initially after her stroke. But with medicine and the help of Chloe, it looks like we will be able to hang on to her a little while longer. Chloe is such a hug member of our family now, it's like she has always been with us. She goes everywhere with us and because she is so well behaved, even for her enormous size, she is welcomed by everyone.  I can't thank you enough for allowing us to adopt her.

 IMG_0941.JPG     IMG_0942.JPG

DaisyLou.jpg

Hello, I wanted to let you guys know she is just wonderful!  I could not ask for a better dog... You would think she has lived here all her life.  She slept right up against me last night and she had to have one paw up against my shoulder.  She seems to be protective of my other two little dogs. If the poodle barks in one room (as a yappy poodle does) Chloe comes a running to back her up in case there is trouble. Now the poodle does it for fun!  it's funny to watch them go through the house. The poodle has shown her all her most fun tricks, rubbing her face on the bottom of the couch after she eats, digging in the comforter on the floor while I'm making the bed.. my older little maltese just kind of follows them around.. it's so funny.. there goes the poodle, boxer on her heals, and itty bitty maltes bringing up the rear.

We went to see my vet today to take her papers in so they could get her file started etc.. plus I wanted to show her off.  He did give me some pain pills for her leg to see if that helps her a little.  Long term it will probably take a surgery, but that's okay. I'll gladly do it for her, she is such a wonderful addition to the family.

My dad was so against me getting a 'big' dog in the house.. didn't take Chloe but about 20 minutes last night and she had totally won him over.  He had her up on the couch laying there with him, rubbing her ears while she slept. He totally fell in love.

THANKS SO MUCH... what you ladies do is absolutely wonderful..

Brock001.jpgHi there, I am Brock.  I am a 2 year old lightly brindled male boxer with natural ears and a wagging tail.  I am a handsome boy and solid as a rock.  I am a special needs case because I am scared of everything, loud noises, unfamiliar surroundings, most new experiences.  I will need someone willing to bring me out of my shell.  If I get scared I run and hide and it will be some time before I come back out.  I believe I would love an older couple or single lady as my new family.  I am crate trained and have good house manners, nicely housetrained.  I am very skittish in new situations.  I am also known as an escape artist so proper fencing is a must for me.  I love to run and play with other canines and love to play ball.  I need someone who has a lot of patience and love to help me.  I like routine, someone I can count on.  Is that you?

PetieFace.jpgPetie is a beautiful white boxer boy approximately 3-4 years old that came from a high kill shelter.  He has the cutest fawn patch on each ear, the center of his head, and one on his rump right above the tail.  He is new to the rescue program and we are in the process of learning about him and he about us.  He appears to be housetrained, is very sweet and loving, gives good little kisses and loves to play.  He has made himself comfortable on the couch and is enjoying his stay indoors. He gets along very well with the other boxer kids and wants only to be loved on and yes pampered.  He has discovered dog toys and is having a blast.  Petie came in with his feet swollen and raw and a large circle around the back of his neck that may have been a chain or collar that was to tight at one time, we can only guess and Petie is unable to tell us.  We have noticed that Petie walks a little funny, we thought at first it was from his very recent neuter, but his right back leg seems stiff.  The vet determined Petie's back legs have been like this since puppyhood, the vet thinks he was kept crated or in an area that was to small for him and his legs grew this way.  He has no problem running and playing with the other dogs and doesn't appear to be in any kind of pain.  He will however, pick it up and carry it when he is running full throttle and in chase mode.  He is so wishing for a forever home before long.

AnzelBoovy.jpgI am Anzel, the rescue ladies said they already had an Angel so I have a name close but very different in spelling. I am approximately 12-15 months old.  I am about 45 lbs and a petit little girl. You see I was an owner surrender at the kill shelter, they barely had time to get me out. I was turned in for fighting with the other female boxer in the household, SO I WILL NOT BE GOING TO A HOME WITH OTHER FEMALE DOGS.  It has been determined by my foster mom that I need to be the only dog in the household, I want to give you all of my attention and really do not want to share you with another canine.  I do have a high prey drive, so we better not have kitty cats. I appear to be well housetrained, very loving, very playful but enjoy sitting beside you for lovins. They think I may actually listen when I jump up on them and they tell me OFF, I do get off, I can also do a very good sit. down, and a resonable stay. I came in heartworm positive and have completed my vet care and treatment.  Oh, that heartworm treatment was rough, I was so very sick.  But I am totally healthy now and just waiting for the right home for me. Thank you for listening.                     Sincerely Anzel

5-14-06  I will be starting basic obedience classes with a wonderful volunteer that comes to walk me everyday.  Oh what fun we are going to have.  She is going to teach me many new things and I am going to try my very best to learn.

I am known as Dutch. I am approximately 9 months old and am cropped and docked. As you can see I am a dark brindle boy with a not to great ear crop. My foster mom has had me on walks and people would say "Oh, what a beautiful Pitt", I want you to know that I am not a Pitt but all boxer boy with a bad crop job. I am a young fellow who loves to run and play, I have really got the boxer burn down to a fine art. I get along wonderfully with both male and females, I even get along with the kitty cats. I am getting the housetraining thing down and my foster mom is teaching me to leave HER things alone. I will require a high fenced in yard for I am an escape artist, but do walk well on lead. I love to give you attention and lay down beside you and can really be good if I have to. I am really looking forward to a family that will love and care for me properly.

Adopted

Kane-Adopted

5-16-06  Kane is now ready for his new home and is impatiently waiting.  KANE.jpgKane is a big boxer baby. He is approximately 9-10 months old and wants to play continuously. He is very loveable but could really use an obedience class to learn some manners.  Kane is fully housetrained and gets along great with other dogs. He doesn't pay much attention to the cat next door at his foster home but have not had them very close, he just watches from the fenced yard.  He is fully vetted and on heartworm preventative.

Abe-Adopted

Abe2.jpg       Abe3.jpg

Letter from adoptive family: Sandie,
I wanted to let you know that Abe is a wonderful addition to our
family, both of our families love him...Aaron's mother even referred to herself as "grandma" which we didn't think she'd do even with biological grandkids (haha). Aaron and I have been working on some new tricks and he's taken quite well to the "army crawl" but doesn't seem to like rolling over very much. We've got him on a special food now, and treats as well and his skin has healed very nicely. He's become increasingly energetic in the past week and lets Aaron and I know when he's ready to play or go outside. He's just a fantastic boy and we couldn't be happier having him in our family, Thank you so much for this opportunity, we really appreciate everything you're doing for the dogs and families. I'll keep you updated on progress or adventures we may endure during this life with our Abe.
Thank you,
Melissa O'Neal

Update:  Abe is coming back into care.  He had a new home for a very short time but the baby was highly allergic.

Abe is a young guy who is looking for a new home.  He is a beautiful classic fawn boy who has a great personality and sweetness that is hard to match.  He loves kids, but may play a little rough for very small children, gets along great with both male and female dogs and plays well with all sizes of canines.  Abe walks well on leash and will do sit, speak, and give me paw.  He is a very calm boy who is already housetrained and has good house manners.  He is not afraid of wheelchairs, men or women.  He is also crate trained and is just such a wonderful boy.

Bert-Adopted

Bo is doing great—he is up to 65 lbs and got a clean bill of health from the vet on his last check up.  Bo loves his new sister Aggie and he loves his forever family too.  He is wonderful with kids and has already been house broke!!!  He also likes to play with kitty, but kitty wants nothing to do with him.  He is a sweet heart and you could not ask for a better pup, he is a sponge for love and attention, and he gets plenty here.  Thank you so much for bringing us Bo!!!!!

Bert is a pretty boy that just came into rescue and had a potential home waiting before pictures or a bio could be arranged.  The foster mom made a stop before going to his foster home and a wonderful lady seen him and fell in love.  What a wonderful deal for Bert.  We hope the adoptive home will forward a couple pics of Bert and the family.

Georgie-Jackson Adopted

Boxer_pose__3.jpg

Update 6-11-06:  Georgie is scared of other dogs when on lead, he will get them before they have a chance to get him.  We think he may be ok with a nice female or male but he cannot meet them on lead.  The ideal home for him would be as an only dog.  He is so very loving and gentle with people and children.

Georgie is a beautiful 2-3 year old male flashy brindle boy that just came into rescue.  When he first came in from the shelter he did not like the male that was in his new foster home, but he is doing well in another foster with 4 other dogs (male and female) without any problems so far, we are unsure about cats but will test him at a later date.  He loves people and we think would do very well with small children.  He is a very calm laid back kind of guy.  He is fully housetrained with great manners.  He walks fairly well on lead and has a great personality.  His pictures just does not do him justice. We will be posting more as we learn all about Georgie.

I am being called Duke, they don't know what my name use to be since I came from a kill shelter, but Duke will be fine with me. I am approximately 2 years old give or take a couple months. Since I just came into the program they don't have much info just yet, but more will be posted in a few days once they work with me and observe my behaviors. One thing they have learned is that I like to ride in cars and I get along great with other dogs both male and female. I am heartworm negative and have received my core shots and am scheduled to be neutered July 10th. Please check back on me once the rescue ladies know more about me.

Adopted

Sadie-Adopted

SadieWishing.jpegI am Sadie and am a 2.5 year old beautiful boxer girl.  I may not be the most well bred boxer girlie out there but I am OH SO LOVEABLE, you should see me bend myself double just for you.  I am perfectly house trained, crate trained, and up to date on all my vaccines.  I am on heartworm preventative.  I am being rehomed due to the fact that I am not comfortable around small children (babies and toddlers).  They seem to scare me, but I love the older children and enjoy playing with them.  I also have very good house manners and love to cuddle up with you.  I also will need a home without other pets, you see I want to be the only dog and quite frankly I will give you more than a 100% of the love you will ever need.  So if you have other dogs or cats, I will not be the girl for you.  I enjoy long walks and do well on leash.

Angel Baby

AngelBaby1.jpg   AngelBaby3.jpg

AngelBaby4.jpgHello, my name is Angel.  I am an 8-10 month old fawn baby girl.  I am an all natural, little lady.  Yeap, you heard that right, I have character, I still have my natural tail.  You should see me wag!!! I may not be the best bred boxer girl out there, but I am certainly very loving and affectionate.  I am so happy to be out of that shelter, I can't believe my people didn't come to claim me, ME as cute as I am.  Anyhoo, these nice people made sure I had all my shots and have been spayed.  I get along great with other dogs, walk fairly OK on lead, could use a little leash work, I guess.  I like to play and will need another canine companion, but OHHH I really like to cuddle with you.  My foster dad let me nap with him and OHHH that was nice, I am a real cuddler.  I am housetrained, crate trained and love everyone.  You can't miss how happy I am with my beautiful tail swishing to and fro.  It just will not stop, even for a fairly calm girl like me.  Yeap, they say I am very laid back for one so young.

Beauregard (Beau)-Adopted

Special Needs - Blind

Beau1.jpg     Beau2.jpg

Beau3.jpgBeau is a very special needs boy. He is 6 years old and is blind. The vet said he has been blind for several years and has adapted very well to it. He walks wonderfully on lead and takes verbal direction well, gets along great with other dogs and still very playful.  He is crate trained, very affectionate, even tempered, great with kids including young ones and seems to enjoy their attention.  Beau is blind, but takes verbal cues for obstacles such as up and down for stair climbing.  He came from an animal shelter and we are not sure how he ended up there but he will have it much more comfortable now with someone to watch over him and love him.  He is doing very well in his foster home and has only made one mistake so far.  He has since learned the layout of the house and which door he needs to go to for potty.  He is such a sweetheart and loving soul, won't you please consider a SPEACIAL NEEDS BOY as your new companion. You will find that he will not be any problems at all and will make you the best friend you have ever had.  He will love you more than you ever thought possible.
