Pennie and Little Bit - Bonded Sisters who have been doing well seperated.

Pennie  Pennie  Pennie

New Update on Pennie  7-11-08:   Hello! I've been separated from my sister, Little Bit, for about a week now. I am full of wonderful suprises. I've done well without my sister with no separation issues. Not only that, but I also get along wtih my new foster brother! I surprised my foster mom when after only two days being in my new home I began playing and wrestling with my new brother! We play every day and I love every minute of it. I also take a walk every day and I do excellent on my lead. I love walks and get so excited and wiggly when I see my leash. I enjoy chewing on bones, but I haven't really figured out toys yet. I'm very cuddly and love to snuggle up next to my foster parents. I would make a excellent addition to your family, please inquire about me!

We would like to adopt these 2 girls together, they are bonded to tightly to be split up if we can help it.  They will need to be the only pets in their new home.

 Bailey   Bailey   Bailey

6-6-08  Bailey's foster mom believes she would do best in a home with older children over the age of 7.

Hi, I'm Bailey and I'm a 10 month old, about 65 pounds, caramel colored Boxer Mix girl.  I have my natural tail and ears and oodles of energy.  I get along well with other dogs both large and small, as well as cats, even the tiny kittens that meow alot.  Right now I try to be good, but I'm still working on my manners.  I'm potty trained and so far I haven't had any accidents in my foster parents house.  I can sit, lay down, speak, and love to play tug-o-war.  I am a little bit of a licker and when I play I nibble some too.  I'm going to need a home with a strong pack leader that has lots of time for me.  I have lots of love to give and I'm looking for my forever home.
XOXO,
Bailey

Bailey is a fun loving and energetic boxer mix or poorly bred boxer girl:  She loves people and likes to give kisses.  She gets very excited when she meets new people.  She has a lot of energy and loves attention.  She is house broken and kennel trained.  She knows how to sit, shake, speak and lay down, she also loads up into her kennel on demand and sleeps all through the night quietly in her kennel. Bailey still needs help learning how to walk on a leash but loves to go on walks.   She is looking for a good home with room to play and lots of love.  Bailey is up to date on all shots and has a puppy plan at petsmart that will expire when she turns 1 year old in July.

Ada

 Ada  Ada

Ada

Update 7-3-08 There are finally some pictures and even a video of me up on http://www.petfinder.org.  Hello, I am being called Ada which suits me very well being the special lady that I am. I am an older girl who was discarded by a breeder who made lots of money off my puppies and threw me away when I got older. I came into rescue pregnant and no one knew because of the shape I was in, even the vet didn't notice. My foster mom delivered 4 pups a few days later but because of my health and age, they didn't make it. My foster mom gave me a special toy to carry around so I wouldn't be so depressed. I carried the toy for a few weeks like it was my own baby. My foster mom has shown me what love and tenderness is all about and what it means to be a family member. I WANT MY OWN FAMILY! I do very well with all the dogs at my foster moms home. I'm perfectly content to lay in the sun or by your side. I don't cause any trouble; I'll leave that to the younger ones!I am housetrained and mature enough to not have to be crated. I am a very sweet and gentle lady who now wants her own home and family. I will give you all the love you can handle. Can you find a place in your heart and home for an older gal? Love, Ada

Adoption Donation: $ None, adoption donation is waived in order for me to find a family of my own who will love me until the end.

Betsy

Betsy

6-6-08  Betsy's foster mom thinks it would be best for Betsy to be an only dog in her new home.

Hello, my name is Betsy and I am about 18 months old.  I am a pretty reverse brindle girl and I am finally starting to get my girlish figure back after having puppies.  The nice animal control ladies in Dearborn County Indiana found me living in a barn with my new litter of puppies back in early March.  All my puppies got adopted, but no one wanted me.  I am so happy to be in rescue now where I will wait for my forever family to adopt me.  I am very sweet but shy around new people and dogs until I realize I can trust them.  I really like to play with balls and rubber squeaky toys.  I am a good girl in my crate and on a leash.  My foster mom will be learning more about me as I begin to come out of my shell. Check back soon for an update.

Update: 7-3-08 I have a new video and new pictures, video can be seen on http://www.petfinder.org! Still beautiful for an older gal, huh? See, even though was found with a bullet in my leg from my previous owner and a leg that had been broken and not given medical attention, I am still a happy girl and can even do a little "dance" for you. I'm potty trained and crate trained. My foster mom says I'm quiet and never cause any trouble. I'm waiting for that special person to come into my life and give me a forvever home so that I can finally feel like I belong. Come and meet me! I bet you won't be disappointed. Nattie was rescued from a kill shelter and was a true medical mess. She has since been fully vetted and the large tumor that was hanging from her stomach has been removed. She is recouping well from her surgery. She had a broken leg at one time that had not been treated and has healed in an S shape but this has not stopped this girl. She is super sweet, loving and only wants to please you. She will make someone an outstanding new family member.

Adoption Donation: Waived for right family who will love her and take wonderful care of her until the end.

Darby-0208  Special Needs

Patches1.jpg    Patches2.jpg

Patches3.jpgMeet Darby, a very petite older female.  She is crate trained, housebroken and loves to play with her foster boxers.  Her tail was cropped completely off, so she has no tail really and is slightly abnormal in the genital area and may require a little clean up when her stools are soft.  She will need a home that is willing to attend to this special need.  She minds extremely well, responds to her name and is very, very affectionate.  She knows what a dog door is and uses when she wants to be outside to lay in the yard or bark at the neighboring horses.  She is completely housetrained, can be left uncrated, and well mannered.  She is perfect with young children or people of all ages.  Darby walks very well on lead and is trustworthy off lead.  She is one exceptional gal.

This is one extremely special girl who loves everyone and everything.  You cannot ask for a better more well behaved girl than Darby.

Adoption Donation: Waived to the right home willing to meet her special needs for life.

 Bonnie1.JPG  Bonnie5.jpg

 Bonnie6.jpg

2-4-08 On Saturday Bonnie developed a bad limp and was acting like her leg was in severe pain.  She was rushed to Shivley Animal Hospital on Sunday and had extensive Xrays ran of her knee and hip.  So far she has arthritis in her knee and some hip displaysia, we are expecting the rest of the results shortly.  She is on meds now to see if this helps in getting the inflamation down.  She may have to be a special needs gal.

Bonnie is a flashy fawn girl with high white socks of approximately 18-24 months. She is housetrained, crate trained and gets along well with other dogs. Cats are unknown at this time. She is fully vetted and ready for her new home. More will be posted as we learn all about this little beauty.

I'm not getting any younger, ya know! My foster mom says I am such a gentle dog. You hardly even realize I'm there sometimes. All I want is a permanent home and a little love to make my last years the best I've ever had. Meet Miss Marcey. She is a beautiful cropped and docked female who is a real love bug. Nana- Not available for adoption.

1-2-08 Update:  Nana has been back and forth at the vets for what was suspected pryrometria.  Antibiotics would work only as long as she was on them.  We elected to have her reopened to see what was causing her so many problems, we assumed she needed the infection to be cleaned out since she was spayed in full heat and maybe some tissue was left behind.  The vet that seen her noticed she had a baseball size tumor attached to her kidneys and it is inoperable.  He also deemed it most likely cancerous.  A biopsy was sent off for further testing.  He has given her an estimated life expectancy of appoximately 9 months with medication.  Nana will remain in rescue for what ever time she has left.  We could really use your help with her veterinary expenses and medications.  Nana had an adoptive home that has waited all this time for her to get better and today that will not happen.  Please keep Nana in your thoughts and prayers.

Lexi

Update: 7-3-08 Check out my new picture and video at http://www.petfinder.org! I've been in my foster home for a long time now and no one has even really inquired about me. What's not to love about me? I'm a gorgeous brindle and still have lots of energy for a middle-aged girl. I am very loyal to my owner and also very obedient. I don't mean to be so clingy, but, for so long I was ignored and abused. I just want someone to pay special attention to me. I'm a real good girl. I'll love you right back and maybe even more so! Being an only child wouldn't bother me a bit, although I still get along with my other foster siblings. Oh, and my thyroid "condition?" It hasn't slowed me down one bit. I've done extremely well on the medication and have not had any more problems. It is a very minor disease. My foster mom says my medicine only costs $11 for a 2-month supply. You can't beat that! Please give me a chance to show you what an awesome dog I am! 11-19-07 Update: Miss Lexi started loosing weight rather quickly and our vet said she has a thyroid condition and will have to remain on meds for this condition. Thyroid meds are rather inexpensive and with a little peanut butter very easy to give.

11-19-07 Update:  Miss Lexi started loosing weight rather quickly and our vet said she has a thyroid condition and will have to remain on meds for this condition.  Thyroid meds are rather inexpensive and with a little peanut butter very easy to give.  This is one really nice girl.  Lexi is new to the program.  She is about 4-5 years old and a gorgeous dark brindle girl.  She is housetrained, crate trained but doesn't care for it much.  She loves to play fetch and will carry her toys around.  She knows all basic commands and gets along very well with all other dogs.  This is one fantastic girl.

MollyPolly11.jpgMolly and Polly just came into the rescue program with their purebred boxer mom. They are beautiful 7 week old boxer mix pups. They are just starting their vetting and will be available for adoption shortly. They were born under a neighbors building and was brought to the animal shelter a couple days after the mother. From the size of the nursing mother she had several pups but these 2 little girls were the only ones brought in. The owner was contacted and decided he didn't want any of them. These 2 little girls are just learning what it is to have human contact and they are finding it to their liking. We would like to have their homes waiting for them when they are fully vetted and ready.

Sable2

Sable2.jpg   Sable3.jpg

Sable is a reverse brindle (more black than brown) with a very shiney coat.  She was rather wild when she left the pound but is learning to walk on a lead, and sit..with treat encouragement.  She is very loving and plays well with Hope in the back yard.  she has never jumped but acts like she would if we didn't catch her when she gets that..."what is that on the other side of the fence look".  She likes to play ball and is learning to bring it back to you.   She is house trained potty trained although needs supervision because I don't think she has ever been in the house.  She does well in her crate.

She is around 12-15 months old and will need a training class to become the excellent family pet I know she can be.
She would be good for someone with older children who can deal with her abundent energy. She is just a loving girl with no manners.

Celeste

637706399108_0_ALB.jpg6-21-07 Update:  Celeste is fully housetrained and loves to be around her family.  She sleeps with her foster dad each night and has learned to trust again.  She is extremely happy in her new life. She is an overall wonderful girl.  She does need to be an only dog in her new home.

Celeste has had a very hard life for a 2-3 yr old boxer/american bulldog mix girl.  She came in from a high kill shelter where she was for the second time.  When they found her, she has been bred, attempted to be used for fighting but wouldn't and finally starved and left with untreated mange.  She has good reason to fear people with the injustice she has suffered.  Celeste is a timid girl and no longer the happy one that left the shelter a year ago.  She will be getting a whole new start and hopefully will learn to trust and to love again.  She has already been treated 3 times for mange and is starting to regrow some hair.  Celeste is now ready for her new home.

Lori Ann-Not Available

LoriAnn1.jpg    LoriAnn2.jpg    LoriAnn3.jpg

UPDATE: 6-22-06  Lori Ann went for a 2nd HW test and will not be treated.  She is to high a positive to survive the treatment process.  She will live what time she has left with her foster mom who loves her dearly.  We will be getting her teeth pulled and cleaned to cut down on the infection next week.  She will know what it means to be loved and cared for during the last part of her life.  It is a shame this is happening to such a wonderful girl when it could all have been prevented by using monthly heartworm preventative.  If you do not have your dog on Heartworm preventative - PLEASE get it tested and placed on monthly preventative.  THIS IS THE LIFE OF YOUR PET YOU ARE PLAYING WITH.  THIS COULD BE YOUR DOG DYING OF HEARTWORM.

Lori Ann is a 7-8 yr old classic brindle female that was pulled  from an extremely high kill shelter.  She is very loving and sweet.  She is new to the program and we are still learning about her.  She is very gentle, gets along well with the other dogs in her new foster home.  She has made herself at home on the sofa and follows her foster mom everywhere.  She loves attention and is very well mannered.  In getting all her vetting up to date she has been found a high heartworm positive.  She will not be able to begin treatment as scheduled for we are trying to kill the microfolora so her liver and kidneys can function more properly.  She will also be undergoing surgery for her teeth and several will be removed at that time.   Please keep your eye on this wonderful girl.
