Sadie0109

Sadie Sadie Sadie

Sadie is one and half years old.  She is up to date on her vaccines and spayed.  She is an owner surrender who is looking for a new loving home.  Her previous owner is an older lady that is having to move in with her daughter because of medical reasons and Sadie will not be able to move with her.  She is not leash trained and will need a fenced in yard.  She is housetrained and loves spending her time with you.  She has not been around many other pets before so we are not sure how she would do.  She would love someone who can work with her on a leash and go for walks, car rides, etc.  She is a very loving girl who is great with kids of all ages.

Alisha

Alisha

Meet Miss Alisha.  She is a 1 yr old flashy girl with natural tail who just came into the rescue program.  She appears to be housetrained and somewhat crate trained.  She is getting her vetting completed very shortly and is NOT so patiently waiting for her new home.  She is a little timid at first and was scared to come inside the doorway when she first arrived in her foster home.  She now goes in-out all on her own and is a real cuddle bug.  She loves attention but is not wild trying to get it.  She is fairly laid back for such a young girl.  She does not do well with all dogs, but is very selective on who she wants as her canine friends.  She is doing very well with a young male boston and a senior female boxer in her new home.  She is scared at first of rowdy boxers and shows mild aggression towards them until she gets to know them better.  We will post more on Alisha as we learn all about her.

Missy  Missy

Missy is new to the program.  She came from a high kill shelter where she had been picked up as a stray.  She came in very thin.  Missy is about 5-6 years old and is the sweetest lady.  She seems to have great house manners, very gentle, very loving and gets along well with the other dogs in the household including females.  She also appears to be housetrained and gets along well with all people.  Missy is very obedient, loves laying in her crate but doesn't have to be crated.  There is not enough good things to say about this girl.  She is one of the most perfect ladies.

Nana

Nana.JPG  Nana2.JPG Nana4.JPG Nana3.JPG

11-17-08 Update:

Nana had defied the odds and it appears she is tumor free.  Back in January (2008) Nana was having surgery for suspected pyometra. Once in surgery, the vet discovered her problems were being caused by a baseball sized mass at the base of her bladder.  Based on it’s appearance, he believed the mass was cancerous and gave her 9 months to live.  Because of his certainty, we did not  biopsy the mass.  After recovering from surgery in January, all of Nana’s symptoms disappeared.    Because she appeared to be doing so well, we decided to take Nana back to the vet to be re-evaluated.   Upon physical examination, Nana appears to be tumor free and she is certainly symptom free.  The vet believes the only way a tumor like Nana’s would  go away would be because it was non-cancerous.   He believes if it was cancerous she would not of survived this long and certainly would not be symptom free.

Since Nana has been in foster care for a year now, we really know her well.  Nana is a 3 or 4 year old boxer/mastiff mix.  She is housebroken and crate trained.  Nana likes kids and can tolerate their occasional roughness.  Nana loves to play with people or other dogs.  She does best with male dogs, although she is fine with non-dominate females. She will do good in an only dog home or a home with other dogs.  She will chew up the occasional stuffed animal if it is left lying around.    It will be hard for Nana’s foster family to let her go, she has become apart of their family over the last year.  Our Christmas wish for Nana is that she finds a forever home that will love and cherish her for the rest of her life.

Adoption Donation: $175.00

1-2-08 Update:  Nana has been back and forth at the vets for what was suspected pryrometra.  Antibiotics would work only as long as she was on them.  We elected to have her reopened to see what was causing her so many problems, we assumed she needed the infection to be cleaned out since she was spayed in full heat .  The vet that operated on her noticed she had a baseball size tumor attached to her bladder.  Because of the tumor's location it was unoperable and most likely cancerous.   He has given her an estimated life expectancy of  9 months with medication.  Nana will remain in rescue for what ever time she has left.  We could really use your help with her veterinary expenses and medications.  Nana had an adoptive home that waited all this time for her to get better and today that will not happen.  Please keep Nana in your thoughts and prayers.

Macy  Macy

Miss Macy is very new to our rescue program.  We are still learning about this little 6-7 month old beauty.  What we do know is that she walks fairly well on lead and doesn't pull overly much.  She will allow her nails to be trimmed quite easily.  She was brought into the shelter along with another boxer who has suffered a broken pelvis.  The shelter noticed she has swelling along her back.  Our vet will be checking this out ASAP.  We will be posting updates on Miss Macy as we learn all about her.  Please check back for future updates.

Belle: Adopted

Belle3

Belle Belle2 Belle4

Belle is a sweet little lady of 4 or 5 years.  She only weighs 45 pounds and is very petite.  She was given up by her owner due to anxiety.  Belle certainly is not an anxious dog; I have never even heard her bark.  She is housebroken and crate trained.  Belle loves to zoom around the yard and likes you to pretend you are going to chase her.  She is such a fun girl to be around and is very loving.  When she is not playing outside she likes to relax on the couch.  Belle loves kids, although when she gets frisky she could knock a young child down.  Belle is not sure of the other dogs in her foster home.  It seems she lacks confidence and reacts inappropriately towards other dogs at this time.  We will be working on socializing Belle with other dogs.  She is such a sweet girl and will fit well into almost any home.

12/7/2008: Pearl has been a very sick momma. A couple days after delivery she developed Mastitis in three of her glands. Pearl became very lethargic and quit eating and drinking. She spent a couple days at the hospital on IVs and can no longer nurse her puppies. The three glands that had Mastitis have since ruptured. She's on a couple different antibiotics and pain medication. We also have to clean out her ruptured gland daily. As for her puppies, the day after her first day on IVs two of her pups became very ill and were unable to be saved. The remaining 8 were put on an antibiotic and have to be bottle fed. They appeared to be doing well until this past Friday. All 8 pups were taken to the vet and were put on a different antibiotic. We are hoping all the new antibiotics for everyone will kick the infection in both mom and pups. We are desperately in need of donations for the vet expenses that have accumulated. So far Pearl and pups have over a $1,200 dollar vet bill. Please help Pearl and her pups survive!

Nov. 19 2008: Pearl delivered 10 healthy boxer-mix puppies.  Mom and pups are healthy and doing fine.  The puppies will not be available for adoption until late January 2009

11-13-08:  Pearl came into rescue very underweight, possible broken leg that turned out to be an old injury that was untreated and caused a severe bacterial infection that raged through her system.  The day she was pulled from the shelter, we had her at the vet for xrays, hince the bacterial infection and the heavy meds to cure it.  A week and a half later she was scheduled for her spay, the vet gave us the news that she is close to delivery and the foster mom needed to prepare for PUPPIES.  We believe the puppies will be coming this weekend, with all the problems this poor girl has faced, we would appreciate warm thoughts for Pearl that she is healthy enough now to bear the pups and that they be healthy enough to survive.  We will be posting updates and pics of our new arrivals.

My new friend Toby likes to follow me around all the time!

Pearl2

Hello! My name is Pearl because I am white and precious! I have been hit by a car and my old family was unable to care for my injuries so I was turned into the animal shelter. The ladies at the shelter thought my leg was broken but when my foster family took me to the vet they found out it was not broken, but I have a bacertial infection from the car accident. I am on lots of medicine and they are starting to make me feel better. I'm about 3 years old and can't wait to to start running and jumping again. I've had no accidents in my foster family's house. I get along great with other dogs. I am very loving and just an all around sweet girl. Once I'm feeling better I will be ready for my new family, is that you?! Please consider giving me the loving home I deserve.

Love, Pearl

Maggie was born mid October 2007, she is spayed, 55 lbs., house trained, and crate trained.  She is full of energy, ready to play and loves to take long walks. Maggie is known to dig the random hole in the yard, but has never tried to climb the fence. She still acts like a puppy and will follow you where ever you go….unless she sees something else that grabs her attention.

Cash and Kali are 6 year old brother and sister.  They are wanting to stay together if possible.  They are looking for a home that will want the both of them.  They are fully vetted, spayed and neutered.  They have been around children but would prefer a home without toddlers because of their size and playfullness.  They are housetrained and crate trained.  Please consider giving both a good loving home.  We will post more about them as we learn.

Lily Lily

Hi! My name is Lily. I'm new to the rescue. I was found running around with one of my friends and was pulled by the rescue the day before I was to be euthanized because the shelter was over-crowded. They think I'm about 4 years old. I'm a brindle girl and fairly petite. I'm so quiet sometimes that it's easy to forget that I'm laying right there beside you, which is my favorite place to be. My foster mom has never even heard me bark, although I will wimper a bit to get your attention if I'm in need of a belly rub! My other favorite place is on the back patio where I can just lay in the sunshine! I promise to give you lots of love if you will do the same for me. I also get along great with all my foster siblings too!

Ada

Ada

Update 7-3-08 There are finally some pictures and even a video of me up on http://www.petfinder.org.  Hello, I am being called Ada which suits me very well being the special lady that I am. I am an older girl who was discarded by a breeder who made lots of money off my puppies and threw me away when I got older. I came into rescue pregnant and no one knew because of the shape I was in, even the vet didn't notice. My foster mom delivered 4 pups a few days later but because of my health and age, they didn't make it. My foster mom gave me a special toy to carry around so I wouldn't be so depressed. I carried the toy for a few weeks like it was my own baby. My foster mom has shown me what love and tenderness is all about and what it means to be a family member. I WANT MY OWN FAMILY! I do very well with all the dogs at my foster moms home. I'm perfectly content to lay in the sun or by your side. I don't cause any trouble; I'll leave that to the younger ones!I am housetrained and mature enough to not have to be crated. I am a very sweet and gentle lady who now wants her own home and family. I will give you all the love you can handle. Can you find a place in your heart and home for an older gal? Love, Ada

Adoption Donation: $ None, adoption donation is waived in order for me to find a family of my own who will love me until the end.

Bonnie-Will spend the rest of her days with us!

We could however use your help in her vet bills, which are exceedingly large.

11-4-08 Bonnie's health has stabilized and she is looking for a home where she can live out her remaining days in peace and comfortShe takes aspirin daily to keep her comfortable.  She is able to walk slowly and goes outside to potty or just relax in the fresh air.  She prefers to be left along by the other dogs in her home but does not mind there presence.  She is looking for a home that can give her lots of love and keep her comfortable.  Please consider making a difference in Bonnie’s life.  Bonnie will not have an adoption fee.  She needs a home willing to let her live out her days in comfort.

2-28-08 Bonnie has more going on than expected. She is deteriorating very quickly in her back legs, hips and lower spine. She is in pain and the meds are barely able to help control her pain level. She has a very devastating and painful disease. She is scheduled another vet visit shortly.

 Bonnie1.JPG  Bonnie5.jpg

 Bonnie6.jpg

2-4-08 On Saturday Bonnie developed a bad limp and was acting like her leg was in severe pain.  She was rushed to Shivley Animal Hospital on Sunday and had extensive X-rays ran of her knee and hip.  So far she has arthritis in her knee and some hip displaysia, we are expecting the rest of the results shortly.  She is on meds now to see if this helps in getting the inflamation down.  She may have to be a special needs gal.

Bonnie is a flashy fawn girl with high white socks of approximately 18-24 months. She is housetrained, crate trained and gets along well with other dogs. Cats are unknown at this time. She is fully vetted and ready for her new home. More will be posted as we learn all about this little beauty.

MollyPolly11.jpgMolly and Polly just came into the rescue program with their purebred boxer mom. They are beautiful 7 week old boxer mix pups. They are just starting their vetting and will be available for adoption shortly. They were born under a neighbors building and was brought to the animal shelter a couple days after the mother. From the size of the nursing mother she had several pups but these 2 little girls were the only ones brought in. The owner was contacted and decided he didn't want any of them. These 2 little girls are just learning what it is to have human contact and they are finding it to their liking. We would like to have their homes waiting for them when they are fully vetted and ready.

Sable2

Sable2.jpg   Sable3.jpg

Sable is a reverse brindle (more black than brown) with a very shiney coat.  She was rather wild when she left the pound but is learning to walk on a lead, and sit..with treat encouragement.  She is very loving and plays well with Hope in the back yard.  she has never jumped but acts like she would if we didn't catch her when she gets that..."what is that on the other side of the fence look".  She likes to play ball and is learning to bring it back toyou.   She is house trained potty trained although needs supervision because I don't think she has ever been in the house.  She does well in her crate.  She is around 12-15 months old and will need a training class to become the excellent family pet I know she can be. She would be good for someone with older children who can deal with her abundent energy. She is just a loving girl with no manners.

Celeste

.jpg   237706399108_0_ALB.jpg

637706399108_0_ALB.jpg6-21-07 Update:  Celeste is fully housetrained and loves to be around her family.  She sleeps with her foster dad each night and has learned to trust again.  She is extremely happy in her new life. She is an overall wonderful girl.  She does need to be an only dog in her new home.

Celeste has had a very hard life for a 2-3 yr old boxer/american bulldog mix girl.  She came in from a high kill shelter where she was for the second time.  When they found her, she has been bred, attempted to be used for fighting but wouldn't and finally starved and left with untreated mange.  She has good reason to fear people with the injustice she has suffered.  Celeste is a timid girl and no longer the happy one that left the shelter a year ago.  She will be getting a whole new start and hopefully will learn to trust and to love again.  She has already been treated 3 times for mange and is starting to regrow some hair.  Celeste is now ready for her new home.

Lori Ann-Not Available

LoriAnn1.jpg    LoriAnn2.jpg    LoriAnn3.jpg

UPDATE: 6-22-06  Lori Ann went for a 2nd HW test and will not be treated.  She is to high a positive to survive the treatment process.  She will live what time she has left with her foster mom who loves her dearly.  We will be getting her teeth pulled and cleaned to cut down on the infection next week.  She will know what it means to be loved and cared for during the last part of her life.  It is a shame this is happening to such a wonderful girl when it could all have been prevented by using monthly heartworm preventative.  If you do not have your dog on Heartworm preventative - PLEASE get it tested and placed on monthly preventative.  THIS IS THE LIFE OF YOUR PET YOU ARE PLAYING WITH.  THIS COULD BE YOUR DOG DYING OF HEARTWORM.

Lori Ann is a 7-8 yr old classic brindle female that was pulled  from an extremely high kill shelter.  She is very loving and sweet.  She is new to the program and we are still learning about her.  She is very gentle, gets along well with the other dogs in her new foster home.  She has made herself at home on the sofa and follows her foster mom everywhere.  She loves attention and is very well mannered.  In getting all her vetting up to date she has been found a high heartworm positive.  She will not be able to begin treatment as scheduled for we are trying to kill the microfolora so her liver and kidneys can function more properly.  She will also be undergoing surgery for her teeth and several will be removed at that time.   Please keep your eye on this wonderful girl.
